WebDAV does not download files at sync time

I installed zotero on a new computer and would like to synchronize attachments from a WebDAV server.

I chose to use WebDAV to synchronize the attachment files in My Library, the server works fine, and I also chose to download the files at sync time, but when I click on the sync button in the upper right corner, zotero does not download the attachment files from WebDAV.

Is this normal and how do I sync all attachments at once from WebDAV?
  • I think my problem is not same as File Not Syncing, because the files can be download from WebDAV if I clicked the items.

But for zotero in Windows, it lacks a Download Attachments menu in iOS to download all attachments in one collection.

I also reset the file sync history before I clicked the sync button.
  • You're saying if you double-click on an item, it downloads the PDF and opens it, but it's not downloading them all automatically?

We'd still want to see a Debug ID for the first sync after Reset File Sync History when that happens.
  • Yes, if the option download files as needed is chosed, when I double-click on an item it down the PDF and open it.

But if the option download files at sync time is chosed, when I clicked the sync button it does not download attachments automatically, even if I reset the file sync history.
  • Again, we'd want to see a Debug ID for that.
  • Well I've been having the exact same issue today, so since I'm bumping into this ongoing thread, here is the Debug ID I created: D1499242130

To be clear (although redundant), like gscholer_book, my WebDAV server is working (no problem with Verify Server), I said I want to download files at sync time, then in "Show reset options", I chose "Reset file sync history", clicked "Reset..." and then the "Reset" button to confirm. But syncing right after does not retrieve any remote file, but double clicking on PDFs that are not in my local storage does seem to download them just fine.
  • I have encountered the same problem. May I ask if your issue has been resolved now
  • No, no change on my end so far

@gscholer_book, @fbouchet, @QingMing: You may need to add another file — from another computer or the web library, or possibly this computer — to convince it to re-download remote files. (Resetting file sync history in theory should be sufficient, but it's not currently overriding an optimization that skips unnecessary file syncs. Resetting file sync history also shouldn't be necessary, and we're not totally sure how people end up in this situation to begin with, but we're looking into it.)
