I have the same issue as pmgoa last summer: the bibliography in the my 200 pages Word document (on a Mac) won't generate. I tried all the abovementioned tips you gave to them but it did not work.
If I follow: Help → Debug Output Logging → View Output
Restart Word, then open the Debug Output viewer and press the Add/Edit Bibliography button in Word. You should start seeing debug information being logged related to the processing of the bibliography.
