sqlite files not appearing in storage files

I had an issue last week with accidentally deleting a folder and was trying to restore an older sqlite file. I was looking throw my past storage documents and realized there is no sqlite files in them anymore (I also had to restore an older version of my storage a couple of months ago). I'm not seeing an of the sqlite files - only the .zotero-ft-cache and .zotero-fit-info files. how can i start getting those files back moving forward (assuming I will need to manual restore my former folder).
  • The sqlite files are in your data folder - see below. So make sure that folder is backed up, along with all the folders under it. If you use linked attachment files, their folder(s) should also be backed up.

  • thanks- I see the sqlite files in my data folder, however I am trying to restore an older version of my library, since one of my folders was accidentally deleted. I understand I am supposed to copy and replace an earlier sqlite (or sqlite.back) file, but I don't see where they would be in the previous storage folders I have.

Everything you need to know about the data directory and restoring from backups is covered on the linked page:

(I'm not sure where you got the idea that the SQLite files are in the 'storage' folder. That's for attachment files.)
  • that was my bad in misunderstanding the sqlite folders- I did this about a year ago and forgot the process. however, I have read this page over many times and i'm still not understanding how to recover an older version of my data according to the storage folder's timestamp. basically, how do i change my current sqlite to match the contents of an earlier folder? (I don't want the most recent backup- I want to restore from a couple of weeks ago when I last had my now deleted collection).
  • You need to find an SQLite file from around that time -- do you have this (e.g.in your backup?)
