None of the help matches the web library

The interface is not the same, the icons are not the same
  • Not sure what help you are referring to, but it is probably because the desktop app is the primary way of using Zotero. See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/web_vs_desktop for more details on the difference between the desktop app and the web library.
  • Thank you.

I have been working in the Web Library because tags are not synching between the local and web DBs. There was a rather long exchange in the forum which seemed to admit this was a problem in the context of bulk tagging. In general, there is a lack of discussion of how synching works. Believe me, if I were confident that tagging in the local version could synch with the web version, I would use the local version.

This post is addressing the documentation. None of the illustrations show the web version and the steps for the local version don't work on the web version. The page which you sent me of features which the web version lacks is not helpful with features that have different implementations.

My other post addressed the problem of getting a title on a child note in the web version. I didn't find any documentation of the fact that the local version took the first line of the note as a title. That doesn't however work with the web version.

I appreciate everything you've done with Zotero. I've worked on cooperative open source projects and know how difficult it is to prioritize feature and documentation development. So please don't take this as criticism, I just need to get my work done in Zotero.

I'm not sure which thread you're referring to, but that's not the case. If you experience any issues with syncing, you should post here. You can start by following the steps listed here.
