Issue with Installing Zotero 7

Dear Zotero Support Team,

I previously successfully upgraded from Zotero 6 to Zotero 7 using the update check from the help menu and have already installed many plgins. Then, I received a prompt to switch from the 32-bit version to the 64-bit version. However, after the switching, I am now unable to launch Zotero 7 any more and encounter the following error message:

I downloaded the Zotero 6 again and the file storage is safe, but I have no idea how to upgrade it to Zotero 7 now. Once I upgrade it, the Zotero cannot be launched any more with the above error message.

I kindly ask for help to solve the problem because I really need some plugins which are only available for Zotero 7. Many thanks for the assistance!
  • Sorry, it looks like this was a bug in Zotero 7.0.4, which was just released. It should be fixed in Zotero 7.0.5, available now. Thanks for reporting.

Note, though, that this would only happen if you had your Zotero data directory in a cloud storage folder, where it absolutely shouldn't be.
  • Yes! The Zotero 7.0.5 works. Many thanks for your illustration and now I've changed my Zotero data directory into the local folder. Thank you again!
