NeoOffice
I have installed the Zotero 2.0 Beta and the zotero plug-in for OpenOffice (although I use NeoOffice 3.0 patch 7). The Zotero reference bar then appears in the toolbar of NeoOffice and OpenOffice but when I try to insert a citation, I get this very odd message-
Basic routine error
Type com.sun.star.beans.UnknownPropertyException
Message:.
What have I done wrong? Thanks...

Have you tried removing the .oxt extension in Neo (Extras>Extension Manager) and using the new 3.0a4 OpenOffice Plug-in for FF? This should give you an entry in Neo (>Extension Manager) of "Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0" and in FF (Add-ons) where it's called "Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a4".
I suspect you may have gotten an older .oxt-file for Neo that is no longer compatible to Zotero 2.0. Check here:
http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation
(Very bottom of the page)
Good luck.
Joseph
Thx
works
Edit: Plugin is 3.0a5
"I don't know if it will install the .oxt into NeoOffice automatically, but you can find a copy of the .oxt within the 'extensions/zoteroOpenOfficeIntegration/install' directory in your Firefox profile after installing the XPI."
The plug-in did not install automatically in NeoOffice after installation in Firefox, but I have managed to install it manually using the above description.
The toolbar is there, but it does not communicate with Firefox. Clicking on the buttons brings up Firefox with the following error message
"Zotero Integration Error:
Zotero Integration ErrorFirefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate Firefox extension is installed and try again."
Current setup is as follows:
Mac OS X 10.5.8
FF 3.6
FF: Zotero 2.0.2 FF plug-in
FF: Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a7 plug-in
NeoOffice 3.0.2 Patch 2
NeoOffice: Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0 plug-in
Edited: Problem Solved
It turned out that JAVA was switched off in FF 3.6 after upgrade from 3.5.
The hints to what was wrong found in Zotero documentation here:
http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting
in section OpenOffice component loading error
Edit:
Great. Just realised you have edited your post...
"Firefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor.”
This is my setup:
Mac OS X (10.6.3)
Firefox 3.6.3
Zotero 2.0.2
Neo Office 3.0.2. Patch 3
Zotero Open Office Integration 3.0.a7
I checked the troubleshooting pages and updated all my software including the software updates for Mac. Java is enabled in the Firefox preferences. Java tells me know (http://browserspy.dk/java.php) that Java is enabled and supported with version 1.6.0. The plugin in Neo office is also enabled, I already reinstalled it.
So, for now I don't know what else I could try. Could anyone help me? I really appreciate it.
Thanks.
I thought now that Java might be the problem as the Java applications on the troubleshooting pages are not working (but my link posted above is working).
The Zotero OpenOffice Intergration uses the Java UNO Runtime Directory: file:///Applications/OpenOffice.org.app/Contents/basis-link/ure-link/share/java/
Any suggestion what to do? It would be great!
Exactly, both test pages are not working. But I cannot reinstall Java on a Mac. Only a software update is possible and I just did that. Could it have anything to do with the Java UNO Runtime Directory?

thanks for your support! I installed now the update and restarted my computer. But still, the problem remains.
Java is enabled in my Firefox setup. Is there anything else I can do?
Make sure you've followed the troubleshooting steps on that first page.
I finally got that issue solved! I'm very glad that I've got zotero back now! But it took me quite some hours and to avoid hours of searching forums for those who are having similar problems, here is the solution (which I found at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/564557 - thanks to user TechElephant!):
I must have launched firefox directly from the disk image file for the very first time, instead of installing it into the applications folder. This messes some plugins somehow up. So, the plugins database needs to be re-initialized.
And how this works is explained step by step at https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins in the last section.
Good luck with it. And thanks again to everyone who helped me with my problem.
