User canceled primary password entry ; 691250469

I cannot sync and don't understand why. I enter my login and password, then this message appears: "User canceled primary password entry". I tried to delete the app, and then reinstall it, but it does not resolve the problem.
  • Can you make a ZIP of your Zotero profile folder and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

    After that, try deleting key9.db and logins.json and then restarting Zotero. But please do send the ZIP first if you can.
  • Hi, I don’t see any “profile folder” at all, and don’t find “key9.db” or “logins.json” either…
  • The linked page has instructions for finding the folder. It definitely exists.

    I don't know, I don't have any "Zotero" folder in my library > application support…

    You're almost certainly looking at the wrong Library folder. This is the Library folder in your home folder, not the one at the root of your disk.

    If you're running Zotero, you definitely have a Zotero folder at /Users/:username/Library/Application Support/Zotero. The linked page says exactly how to get to it.

    But I don't see “key9.db” or “logins.json”. I sent the zip to support@zoter.org.
  • Sorry, I meant key4.db, but I was actually able to reproduce this with the folder you sent.

    Try closing Zotero and deleting only secmod.db. Does that fix it?

  • @b.conti: We already put in an automatic fix, so this shouldn't be necessary if you're running a current version of Zotero 7.
