Zotero references missing

hi all, I am writing my dissertation and I have been using Zotero this while time. I have 18 pages of references. I had to use a school MS Word template in order to meet their editing and standard guidelines. The problem is that I wrote the paper first and then had to copy and paste it into the Word template. When I hit the Zotero button in Word to bring in my references it brought in 2 pages. I have a copy of my reference with my old paper so I know I have more. Without copying all 18 pages of my old paper is there any to sync up my old references to this 'new' paper.

    What button, exactly?

Note that copying the bibliography itself won't accomplish anything — a Zotero bibliography is just a representation of the Zotero citations in the document. You have to copy the actual Zotero citations and then refresh or add a bibliography, and then the bibliography will include all the items that are cited in the document.

If you copy the full paper with citations to another document, there shouldn't be a problem. It's possible that something you did caused some of the citations to be flattened, though. See Existing Citations Not Detected for how to check whether citations are active.
  • by button I mean the add/edit bibliography button in word.

I have the citations in my new paper, I just have so many that I dont want to add them one by one all over again. I will check you the link you provided.

    thanks
