Word plug-in issue

The citations are starting at 3 instead of 1. Right before this there was a "Could not find word instance". Somehow I got it to work again, but it is acting very weird. Updated to the new version as well to see if it will fix. Still not working properly. I tried the UAC but cannot figure out what is wrong. When I open the bibliography it shows 2 old citations in 1 and 2 that I deleted. Could they be hidden somewhere that I cannot find?

    It's possible that somehow Zotero citations in your document got replaced by empty spaces when you deleted them. To find them enable the display of Word Field Codes and look for any traces of ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM in your document, then remove them completely and try inserting a citation again.
