Missing item in Classic view

I have an unusual problem. Namely, there is one item in my library that I cannot see in classic view, when I have multiple sources there. Even if I have only that source and switch to multiple sources view, I cannot see it there, although for all other items, everything works as it should. Otherwise, I can quote that item, but I would like to move it up in an instance where I have several sources and that is not possible.

    Just to add one more detail, when I open classic view, where I should have three sources (and they are in my Word document visible), I see only two sources and when I click OK, then I have only two sources in my Word document left.

    I don't know if it maybe has something to do with specific German letter ö?

    This is because you removed one of those sources from your Zotero library. Only the default citation dialog supports displaying and citing sources that are no longer in your Zotero library.

    Thank you very much. I had two entries and deleted one, and I did not assume that Zotero might quote the one I deleted. That is also why I had source A and source B, although it is the same book. Now I changed everything to the right entry/source and all works just fine. I am just wondering, is there a way to completely remove the old source which I do not want to use anymore?

    Zotero stores item information inside your citations in Word so that it can generate the correct citation and bibliography even when you delete those items from your library. If you remove the item from all citations in your document (or change the deleted item with the one still in your library) then it won't appear in your bibliography anymore.

    In the future if you have duplicate items in your library we recommend to use the Duplicate Items view (at the bottom of the collection list) to merge any duplicates. That way you won't have this issue in your documents.
