Best way to move collections from over-quota account?

Hi all:

Happy Sunday, great forum, thanks everyone for sharing.

I'm 800% over my quota in my personal account. (I let my subscription lapse, sorry, sorry.)

I'm fortunate that I just got a job that has a subscription to Zotero with unlimited storage.

What's the easiest way to move some collections over to the unlimited account? When I created Group Libraries and invited myself (Groucho Marx, anyone?) the items uploaded but no attachments/pdfs -- I assume because I'm way over the quota.

Thanks all!

Eli

Generally speaking, you shouldn't have multiple accounts — you should have one account and add additional email addresses to it.

I'd recommend deleting this account and adding this email address to your previous account.
  • Thanks for the help dstillman!

I agree, that would be ideal. But in the syncing menu it only allows you to sync with one account at once.

By "add this email" do you mean make a Group Library or something else?
  • @elikintj

    https://www.zotero.org/settings/account

Add the email to the bottom part of this page, when logged in to your personal account.
  • Ah thanks so much.

So we think if I add my institutional email with the unlimited account to my personal account the unlimited storage would carry over?

Yes, you'll just need to delete the newly created account first before it can be added to your original account. Once you add the institutional email to your old account and verify it, the unlimited storage will apply.
  • Oh that's great, thanks so much dstillman, gustms and fcheslack!
  • It worked! Many thanks (elikint from his old acct ha)
