I have tried several methods in the Zotero Forums, including changing the UAC, changing the EnableUA value in the registry to 1, and reinstalling the software several times, but still can't solve the problem.
I'm helpless and frustrated. Please help me. Thanks

    Did you restart your computer after increasing the UAC level or setting EnableLUA to 1?

    Yes, my computer has been restarted after the modification.

    Can you increase UAC to level 3 (default) restart your machine, then see if it works. If it does not, could you attempt to run Notepad as Administrator and confirm that you get an UAC prompt?

    Thank you for your reply. I usually use the computer as an administrator. As you said, I confirm it works. I followed the other posts, ran zotero7 in compatibility mode, and it was fine to add references in word. I also wonder why this is the case, since I didn't have this problem with zotero6 before. Should I not use the computer as an administrator?

    Windows has Administrator and Standard account types. It is perfectly normal to use an Administrator account on your personal computer. However disabling UAC completely is dangerous and not advised even if you are an advanced user.

    Could you explain step by step what you did to make Zotero work with Word?
