Error adding one particular reference to Word

The other references work fine.

Restarted both Word and Zotero.

Deleted the reference in Zotero and made it again, the same result.

Debug ID is this: D700743391

Have not seen this before.
  • OK, I fixed it by deleting temp files, restarting the computer. After that, I could see multiple entries of the offending citation in Word. Deleted them, restarted Word, and could add again as expected. Something weird in Word.
  • Could you be more specific and explain step by step what your problem was and what you did? Do you know what lead to this error? We occasionally get users with errors like this and would like to fix it.
  • Well, the reference was of a book with two editors, one incorrectly entered as an organisation by the connector.

I added to Word and noticed then.

Deleted the editor and added a new one.

Got the error. Tried several times. Nothing was visible in Word.

After the restart, I saw this (shown here in an autosaved version, hence the tracked changes highlighting).

I imagine something got messed up with the fields in Word. Not sure this is helpful...

Oh, and this file is synched to SharePoint...

If you need more, we should switch to a private channel...
  • Oh, and this is in Z6.
  • We don't want any private document information. If you manage to find steps to reproduce this issue consistently, do post here. It seems like it's related to the track changes feature in Word, which would cause issues, but which Zotero disables in Word while inserting citations. It seems like in your case maybe disabling track changes somehow didn't work, maybe due to a Word bug.
  • I did not have tracking enabled as this was happening. You see tracking in the image above because this is how the SharePoint displays version history.

    No, I cannot reproduce this.
