Libs error while running
Hi everyone,
I just fresh installed Fedora 40 on my x86_64 PC and followed the guide to get Zotero on it.
Unfortunately, when I try to run the executable, I get the following error.
> ./zotero
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/ronin/Programs/Zotero_linux-x86_64/libxul.so:
libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
I already saw lots of discussions about this error, but the solution is always "download the latest version from the official site and retry". That's exactly what I did...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I solved it by installing the following packages with dnf:
> sudo dnf install libXinerama cups-libs dbus-glib
Hope it works for you (and future people searching for a solution!)
When I run the zotero executable (latest version) I get:
> /opt/zotero/zotero
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/zotero/libxul.so:
libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
Is there any solution available for Ubuntu 24.10? So far zotero has always worked perfectly after any Ubuntu upgrade.
Thanks in advance,
$ sudo apt-get install libdbus-glib-1-2
This solution was posted a few years back in response to a similar problem:
