Copy/pasting a list of words from MSWord into Zotero as individual tags of ONE reference

When using EndNote, I would make a list of up to 300 keywords, in MS Word, and then copy and paste them into the keywords field of ONE REFERENCE. Can this be done in Zotero, instead of typing in each TAG separately? Thanks for any guidance.

Yes, you can paste a list of tags (one per line) into the Zotero tag addition box. Then hit the Add button again.

The Zutilo plugin supplies multiple other useful tags operations, eg copying tags from one item to the clipboard, and then pasting them to one or more selected items.

  • Thank you, but I am still at sea. A list of tags, with each one on a separate line, when copied and pasted into the Add Tags field, are displayed side by side. This is a list I want to transfer

    BOY
    TOY
    CAR
    BALLOON

They appear in the field as

    BOY TOY CAR BALLOON
  • Hitting Shift-enter after pasting this list in the tag field should create 4 individual tags, either on Zotero 6 or Zotero 7.
  • Thank you. I am trying to do this Online. Is that possible? Or is it only possible on the desktop version?
  • You should have say this from the beginning, as we always assume you are using the desktop. I don't think it works in the web library (where the functionalities are quite limited).
  • Yes, I should have. My apologies. I am new to Zotero, and hence did not realise. Many thanks for your help!
