Right-click menu in Zotero beta 94 remains on screen after clicking elsewhere

In the latest version of Zotero beta 94, the right-click menu remains on screen after clicking elsewhere. Instead of immediately closing, it hovers over all Windows windows and only disappears after a delay. This behavior is problematic as it obscures other windows and makes it difficult to interact with the desktop.

I have tried restarting Zotero and my computer, but the issue persists. I am using Zotero beta 94 on Windows 10.
  • Can you provide a Report ID?

Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)?

The issue remains even I use the Troubleshooting Mode.

  • That's not Troubleshooting Mode — you still have lots of plugins enabled.
  • Please see the figure below:

  • If you go to Tools → Developer → Run JavaScript and run this, what's the result?

    Zotero.Prefs.get('ui.popup.disable_autohide', true)

Right, so you or some plugin you installed changed that setting, which is a developer setting that prevents popups from closing. It should never be set to 'true' in normal use. Go to the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the settings and set that back to 'false'.
  • Thank you. It works for me.
  • Do you know how that setting changed? Were you developing a plugin and using the devtools, where that setting is exposed, or did a plugin do this?
  • Sorry, I did not know how it was changed. I did not develop a plugin.
  • If you don't mind, could you go to your Zotero profile directory, make a ZIP of the 'extensions' folder, and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? (This is just the plugin code, not any of your data.) You have many plugins installed, and we might be able to figure out if any of them did this.
  • The email has been blocked.
  • Can you upload the file somewhere and send us a link?
  • I have sent an email containing the link to support@zotero.org.
  • Thanks. It looks like this was done by Better Notes, which has now been fixed by the developer to use a safer method.
  • Ok. By the way, how can I set the font size for the annotations when reading pdf?
  • I set the font size by following the steps in the link, namely under the 'view' menu. However, the font size for the annotations when reading pdf did not change, as shown in the following figures:

    before setting:

    setting:

    after setting:

We can see that the size for the testing text 'How long' is the same.
  • You need to resize the box of the text after clicking on the Text Annotation:

  • (OK, by annotations you meant text box)
  • Thank you for the clarification. Can I set the default font size and color for the text box when reading a PDF? It would be convenient not to have to adjust it each time.
