This happens When I use the PDF reader of zotero. I choose a color of annotation, such as blue, and delete all items in it, and then the annotation column goes blank. All annotations and toolbar of the PDF reader, which contains highlight etc., disappear. Reopening the article will restore all annotations as well as toolbar. It might not be caused by a clash because problem remains after disabling all plugins.
