FR: Libre Office embedded into Zotero
Although papers are usually in pdf format, the supplemental material are many times in *.doc, *.docx, *.odt ... formats. So openning them implies openning Libre Office or Word or the corresponding application.
Recently was published on Libre Office blog this post: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2023/06/19/five-ways-we-can-make-libreoffice-and-thunderbird-work-better-together/
Among those five ways, the next one, where I just substitute thunderbird with zotero and some other minor modification:
What about a better integration of the viewing, editing and exporting capabilities from LibreOffice into Zotero for attached files? For example, an ODT file can be viewed and edited directly in Zotero (without leaving the window) and exported as PDF file.
PS: Another FR, which should be easier, as Zotero is built on Firefox, it would be great if attached URL links were opened in Zotero tabs (as thunderbird already does sometimes).
Thank you!

Did you know that you can embed #LibreOffice into your applications? Find out more on our dev blog: https://dev.blog.documentfoundation.org/2024/06/27/libreofficekit-api-in-action/
(Maybe through https://github.com/emscripten-core/emscripten, to use C++ from Javascript)
