Extension Adds an Overlay Scroll Bar in Chrome when not needed

I have been using Zotero extension for years. I noticed recently that a scroll bar shows up in my Chrome browser when it it not necessary. It causes my whole window to scroll up, leaving a blank portion under certain websites even though there is nothing to scroll up to.
  • First, make sure you're running the latest version of the Zotero Connector for Chrome, 5.0.130.

If you're still seeing this, can you provide an example URL where you're seeing the scroll bar?
  • Same happening for me.

    Zotero Connector for Chrome, 5.0.130

Example pages are srf.ch or digitec.ch - both require scrolling but if i have the extension enabled it adds a roughly 0.75cm bar below the page.

You can see the white bar in the screenshot. Its only there if zotero extension is enabled.

  • Zotero Connector for Chrome 5.0.132

I get the vertical scroll bar on all websites I visit.

@andyflag1717, @MarcoOberli, @westheidec: This should be fixed now in Zotero Connector 5.0.133. Let us know if not. Thanks for reporting.

(@westheidec: This wouldn't have been on all websites, though, so possible you were seeing something different, or some conflict with another extension.)
  • @dstillman I just added the Zotero Extension back, It seems to be working again. It must have been Zotero previously causing the issue because it disappeared when I removed the extension and reappeared when I reinstalled the extension. I did this 3x. I did not have any other extensions installed in Chrome. Thank you for the quick response and fix!
