Syncing of snapshots
The Zotero manual says, "Data syncing merges library items, notes, links, tags, etc. — everything except attachment files — between your local computer and the Zotero servers". Do snapshots count as "attachment files"? If I uncheck "sync attachment files" will Zotero still sync the snapshots, or will it stop syncing them?

dstillmanedited June 7, 2024Yes, snapshots are attachment files. (You can right-click → Show File to see that they're just .html files on disk.)

dclarkeRight. I was just wondering if they fit within Zotero's definition of the term. So if I unsync "attachment files", I can save myself space on the Zotero server, right? I don't need the snapshots there; I always access them from my laptop's hard drive.

dstillmanedited June 7, 2024I mean, if you uncheck syncing of attachment files, no files, including PDFs, will be available anywhere other than the computer where you added them. It's not really about snapshots. You would just be turning off file syncing.
