[Z7 Beta] Characters wrongly display in reference preview
Hi all,
while reading this paper (OA, https://doi.org/10.1017/apa.2023.6) I've stumbled upon the following problem.
In the reference preview pop-up, references appear like this:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u5025031/24z383d7imoga9ywfqct.png
The reference is correctly displayed in the References section:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u5025031/ozyf8v034lw64b1248jy.png
It looks like some kind of font/character encoding problem.

samvimesIt seems to be a problem with the numbers in this specific PDF; copying them in Firefox's pdf.js also only displays them as boxes.

gduffneredited June 5, 2024That’s a font issue in the font used in the pdf. The glyphs for the (so called) text figures don’t identify themselves correctly as the numbers zero to nine. Therefore the pdf-viewer will show the correct glyph outlines but whenever it renders the text in a different font it will only show the code points where the glyphs sit as it doesn’t know that it has to map them to anything else.
