Harvard style (6th Edition)
I am supposed to make a reference list according to the harvard 6th edition because of a journal requirement. Which reference style should I choose out of the available lists? I am only used to APA ones so I am very confused. TIA! :)
Which journal is that for? Can you link to the instructions?
I am actually currently searching a referencing style for Behavioural Public Policy also but could not find a correct one (went through all Harvard styles). There is always some differences in marking year or the volume and issue numbers etc.
I wonder if you could request for a new style following those instructions given earlier. They suggested not to start a new thread if there is already one, just to update the post.
I filled those information here already, if you would like to update your thread and request the style here:
1. Name your post "Style Request: [Behavioural Public Policy]", and include the following information:
2. A link to online style documentation: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/behavioural-public-policy/information/author-instructions/preparing-your-materials
"Referencing: Authors must use the Harvard System of Referencing (6th Edition). In this system citations in the text and footnotes list the author’s surname and the year of publication of the work in parentheses. Eg. (Sen and Williams, 1963). Where there are four or more authors, list the first author’s surname, followed by et al. and the year of publication. The full list of cited references is then provided alphabetically at the end of the article. References should contain, in the case of books, the names of authors as they appear on the title page, the year of publication, the full title including any subtitle, the name of the publisher and the place of publication and in the case of articles, the name(s) of the author(s), the year of publication, the full title of the article, the name of the journal, the volume and issue numbers, and the page reference (number of first and last page)."
3. The journals ISSN: 2398-063X (Print), 2398-0648 (Online)]
4. Two citations, for a journal article and a book chapter, in the format of the style you're requesting:
In-text instructions:
(Sen and Williams, 1963)
(Williams, 1947; Mussen, 1950)
(Yablon, 2012, p. 250)
(Novick et al., 2017)
Reference list instructions:
5. Freely available papers formatted with the style (noted some differences in the instructions for references and in published reference lists though):
