Zotero not using FF as default browser

When I click on an item representing a link, Zotero is always bringing that page up in Chrome for me. I have double-checked that my system's (Kubuntu 23.10) default browser is set to Firefox. How can I get Zotero to open links in Firefox?

    Zotero uses xdg-open to open links on Linux. You will have to make sure it is configured correctly.

    firefox_firefox.desktop

    How is Zotero installed? If you installed it via flatpak, we cannot provide support for that, but it most likely has its own xdg config.
