[Zotero 7 beta] Zotero crashes when trying to use LibreOffice integration

Hello. I just installed the connector extension from the files. i had to connect it manually because Zotero did not do it automatically.

after installing the extension, whenever I click it on LibreOffice, zotero crashes.

i am using this LibreOffice version
Version: 24.2.3.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 420(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: pt-BR
Calc: threaded
And using Zotero version 7.0.0-beta.83+066eda731 (64-bit), flatpak installed from Flatuhb-beta

i am running Gnome on Fedora 40.

LibreOffice is not Flatpak, just Zotero is.

runing on terminal, I got this message

antenoraguiar@fedora:~$ flatpak run org.zotero.Zotero | fpaste
Exiting due to channel error.

/app/bin/zotero, linha 20: 5 Falha de segmentação (imagem do núcleo gravada)"$CALLDIR/zotero-bin" -app "$CALLDIR/app/application.ini" "$@"
No text to send.

the backtrace given by Gnome is too big. i put it here. It says there was a sigsegv error, and i have no idea what it means, but sounds important.

  • You should use LibreOffice 7. LibreOffice 24 has some problems. (And you shouldn't use the flatpak version of Zotero, which is not maintain by the Zotero developers)
  • LO 24 is the standard in the distro.

what are the problems with flatpak?

i've seen other people with problem integrating, but mostly because it couldnt do the automatic install, which I managed by doing it by hand. none of them were using the Zotero 7, though.

i will try it with Zotero 6 to see if the problem persists, and with the tarbal (altough i really prefer using a flatpak...)
  • It works flawlessly with the same LO 24.2.3.2 (X86_64) and Zotero 6.0.35 flatpak

i cant start the z7 from the tarbal. it opens my firefox profile manager, in un readable way.

Not sure what you mean by that. Can you provide a screenshot? The official tarball certainly shouldn't open the Firefox profile manager.
  • nevermind. i was trying to open ./zotero-bin instead of ./zotero

the problem with the integration already have an issue on the flatpak repository

Flatpak is the future of linux packaging. it would be really great if you guys could work with them.
