Can't move an RIS-imported reference to another collection

When I import a RIS file from EBSCO or some other such site, it creates a new collection entitled EBSCO-Metadata-Date. The reference shows up fine but I cannot move it to another collection. How can I resolve this?

Almost certainly has nothing to do with how you're adding them -- you're likely just copying them (the default drag & drop operation) instead of moving them.

Thank you! I do wish I could import RIS directly without it always creating a new collection.

Good news: you can. You should see a checkbox "import into a new collection" while you import a Bibtex, RIS or similar file. Just uncheck it.
