iOS Debug Log: D1680701580

edited May 20, 2024
Hi!

I’m using Zotero on my iPad and Windows PC and Yandex WebDAV to sync PDF files between them. I have the same settings for the Yandex server on both devices. The file sync from PC to iPad works beautifully. Instead the file sync from iPad to PC doesn’t work. Can’t even access the PDF in the Web Library.

I tried using Zotero’s own file sync option and with that the sync works normally also in the iPad to PC direction. So the problem must be only with the WebDAV and only with iPad uploading to cloud.

All the help is very much appreciated!

Edit: The right input log is D1680701580, also changed for title.
  • We'd need to see a Debug ID for actually adding the file on the iPad and letting it try to sync.
Can’t even access the PDF in the Web Library.
To be clear, you would never be able to access the file in the web library if you're using WebDAV syncing.
  • Hi,

    Okay, my bad!
Here’s a new one that should be right: D1680701580

    Thank you!
  • @opniskanen there doesn't seem to be any file added in that debug log. You should start debug logging and then add a new attachment in the app for example.

    Hi,
That’s weird, I swear I had 1 file that didn’t upload. But now I created a Test project and tried to upload a test PDF so it is clear which file i’m trying to upload. Here is a new debug ID: D805926510.

And here are screenshots from the failed sync.

And a reminder that the problem is only with iPad to PC and only with WebDAW.

Thank you for the quick responses!
  • This debug log doesn't contain anything being uploaded too. And on your screen shots I can see that your debug logging is not running while you're encountering your error (I can't see the blue button in bottom left corner to stop debug logging).

Oh sorry, the error comes with just trying to sync! The debug logging doesnt give an error, it just gives the Debug ID

And I most certainly try to upload the test file but i get error messages when I sync and it doesn’t seen to appear in your Debug logs.

You shouldn't be running "Full Sync Debugging", that's a misunderstanding. Check this please.
  • Oh, sorry, my bad!

I followed the instructions, maybe now it works: D874574066

    Thank you!
  • This contains the info we need now. Your yandex WebDAV is returning "The request timed out." when trying to upload the attachment. I don't think I can help you more unfortunately. You mentioned that using our sync worked fine from iPad, so the issue seems to be with your WebDAV provider.

Here's the full error reported by iOS just in case:
    Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1001 "The request timed out." UserInfo={_kCFStreamErrorCodeKey=-2102, NSUnderlyingError=0x3009f3fc0 {Error Domain=kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork Code=-1001 "(null)" UserInfo={_kCFStreamErrorCodeKey=-2102, _kCFStreamErrorDomainKey=4}}, _NSURLErrorFailingURLSessionTaskErrorKey=LocalUploadTask <7608250C-05C0-4273-BD50-A210A0C7AE42>.<11>, _NSURLErrorRelatedURLSessionTaskErrorKey=("LocalUploadTask <7608250C-05C0-4273-BD50-A210A0C7AE42>.<11>"), NSLocalizedDescription=The request timed out., NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=https://webdav.yandex.ru/zotero/PPJLDT6R.zip, NSErrorFailingURLKey=https://webdav.yandex.ru/zotero/PPJLDT6R.zip, _kCFStreamErrorDomainKey=4}
  • You can also try to do these and see if it resolves something on your device's end:
    1) Try to terminate the Zotero app (in app switcher swipe up on Zotero) and try to sync again.
    2) Sign out of Zotero and sign back in, try uploading a file again.
    3) Try restarting your device and try again.

Let me know if that changed something for you.
