Zotero 7, disabling pdfjs speeds up rendering of pdfs

I dont know if disabling pdfjs is advisable however, it speeds up the rendering speeds of opened pdf, before then most PDFs rendered slowly per page, and scrolling up and down was very sluggish.
  • Could you clarify what you mean by say "disabling pdfjs" and how you do that?
  • I accessed the advanced config and disabled the pdfjs, seems to improve the load time of PDF'S
  • No, that's a Firefox setting that doesn't have anything to do with Zotero and wouldn't have affected the speed of Zotero's built-in PDF reader. Zotero's reader always uses PDF.js.

I think you'll find that resetting that pref makes absolutely no difference.

Once a PDF is loaded in a tab in Zotero, it's cached until you visit enough other tabs to evict it from memory. Before then, returning to that tab would be fast.

Restarting Zotero could also speed things up if there was some memory leak (from Zotero or a plugin) causing Zotero to use a large amount of memory.

If you're having problems with performance, you should start a new thread and explain exactly how to reproduce the problem, not just change random hidden settings you don't understand.
