Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, disable all plugins and see if it still happens. If not, re-enable them one by one until you find the one that's causing this.

@dstillman: Thank you for your reply. I just found the issue: due to remote control, my GPU usage was close to 100%. After closing the remote control software, Zotero returned to normal.
