Is a Zotero connector available to integrate with macOS Finder and streamline document management directly from the Finder interface using right-click functionality?
You can drag PDFs and other files into Zotero to add them to your library. A future version of Zotero will also let you open files via Zotero to add them.
My suggestions (I'm suggesting because I don't have the technical expertise and capability):
Suggestion 1.a. Create a Zotero connector for MacOC Finder, in addition to the Zotero Connector for browsers.
Suggestion 1.b. Or, create a Zotero plugin for MacOC Finder.
Suggestion 2. Create a Zotero plugin, something like Hookmark App, to copy link from pdf in Zotero (be it stored or linked pdf) and paste the link "zotero://open-pdf/0_XXXXXXXX" in 3rd party apps. The XXXXXXXX is the folder unique identifier in Zotero's storage folder.
Suggestion 3. Under Zotero's right-click - More Columns, include an option to add a column for the XXXXXXXX unique identifier. Currently, it's difficult to map the Titles in My Library to the XXXXXXXX unique identifier in Zotero's storage folder.
Again, you can just drag a file from Finder into Zotero, and in a future version you'll be able to open a file with Zotero from Finder to import the file. There's no need for a plugin for Finder.
From within Zotero app, how can I know the linked pdf's XXXXXXXX folder's unique identifier in Zotero's storage folder? This pertains suggestions 2 and 3.
When the parent item is selected, the "Copy as Copy PDF Link" option appears in the Edit dropdown; however, it does not appear when the PDF attachment is selected. Please refer to the attached screenshots.
I need the "Copy as Copy PDF Link" option to appear when PDF attachment is selected.
