Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note) assigning Roman numerals to endnotes

I am no expert on Chicago style (and even less versed in which of the three styles in Zotero is the typical one), but nothing I am seeing in the Chicago Manual of Style Online, the physical manual, or the Purdue OWL that says to use lower-case Roman numerals for footnotes.

Yet Zotero is doing it. Is this correct in some way? If not, how can I fix it?

    That's just a Word setting that you change yourself. Has nothing to do with our citation style.
