Zotero iPad metadata capabilities

Whilst adding a new entry fvia identifier works well on the iPad version, the functionality regarding creating a new parent entry for an existing attachment doesn’t offer any identifier options. You can only create a parent fully manually. Also drag and drop is not working to move an attachment into a parent entry. Retrieving metadata for an attachment is also not supported.

Are there any plans to include these functionalities in future versions? I really enjoy them on the PC and it would be great to continue working on the iPad…

    Dragging an attachment on top of a parent item should work. Can you say what's not working for you?

    You should be able to create a new item by identifier and drag an attachment on top of it.

    A future version will support PDF metadata retrieval, and we can support identifiers for creating parent items as well.

    Whats not working: I select the respective collection in the left pane, then I tap and hold an attachment (pdf) until the context menu pops up. The options I have are "create parent item" (-> opens a manual add mask), remove download, add to collection, remove from collection, move to trash.

    if I tap and drag the attachment I can hover it around but it doesn't seem to "snap" or drop anywhere. However upon retrying it now I noticed that it actually works and slips well into an existing parent! Must have been my mistake, maybe on previous attempts I didn't place it properly so it just popped back into the list without change...

    Thanks for the great work and the fast reply here, looking forward to any future developments! This is definitely the most awesome tool for managing literature!
