Export library for backups if sync set to download files as needed

Hi all

I have a group library where users download only as needed to reduce duplication on our server.

If you have the sync set up to only download files as needed and I try to export the library, would it only export the local files or would it then download all files from the Zotero cloud storage for the export?

    1) It would only export the locally downloaded files.

    2) An export isn't a backup. See Backing Up Your Zotero Data for making a proper backup. But the same thing would apply.

    So 3) you'd want to do the (proper) backup from a computer that was set to download all files.
