Peter Lang compatible style

I am looking for a style that follows the following rules:

Family Name, Name: Title. Subtitle. Publisher: Place Year, Pages.

Having started modifying Chicago author-date (17th edition) I am advancing, but as I do not know xml, I am trying to work with the visual CSL-editor.
Currently I wonder how to move "year" from its original position

Family Name, Name. YEAR. Title...

to the abovementioned position near the end of the citation (in the bibliography).
  • The visual editor isn't super easy to work with as you make structural changes to styles, but you can click on year in the citations, then identify the macro it's is on the left (which is simply "date" for Chicago author-date) and then drag that macro to a different place in the "bibliography" tree on the left.

thank you @adamsmith, I followed your instruction and advanced quite a bit in the meanwhile. Currently I am trying to figure out two things:

    1. how to get rid of the "and" between authors (example "Müller, Michael / and Peters, Ulla"). I cannot seem to find anything in the macro "contributors"

    2. if and how to put "ed.", repectively "Hrsg." after the contributors, as in the example below:

Petersen, Andreas: „Jugend auf den Kampfplätzen des untergehenden Berlin 1932“. In: Müller Yves/Zilkenat Reiner (Hrsg.): Bürgerkriegsarmee. Forschungen zur nationalsozialistischen Sturmabteilung (SA). Peter Lang: Frankfurt a.M. et al. 2013, S. 63-92.

I switched the style in the word processor add on to "German", but it follows the US-logic:
    In: Hrsg. Müller Yves/Zilkenat Reiner
  • 1. That's the attribute "and" which you'll see in the bottom right as one of the attributes of "name" (confusingly, there's "names" and "name" -- the "and" is set on "name"). You'll want to set it to empty. It's currently on "text".

    2. That's the "label" node under "names" on the left. You'll want to drag it from before "name" to after "name" on the left and the add parentheses in the prefix/suffix on the bottom right.
  • omg, thank you!!! how can I buy you a coffee/beer? :)
  • For anyone looking for the Social Science Peter Lang format I have made this and I think it is pretty close.
