Upgrade from 6 to 7 broke my Zotero

Hi,
After using the 7 beta installer, I keep getting a request to reboot to complete the installation. The 6 install is broken, my hard copies are not in the online backup... I can't afford to lose my main Zotero now....

Does anyone know of a fix?

(even the Win uninstall wants me to reboot first... which doesn't work)
  • Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero and C:\Program Files\Zotero, restart your computer, and reinstall the beta. Your data won't be affected.

    I kinda feel stupid for not figuring it out myself.

    Thought it was not obvious (to a new quasi-technical user) that Zotero would just go and read whatever dataset is still in the Zotero user folder.
