From Zotero to CITATION.cff
This is a feature request. As pointed out, Zotero can capture from GitHub with the .cff file. However, I think it would be interesting if Zotero could also automatically generate a .cff file based on an existing citation. This would make the creation much faster. A website exists where one can create a .cff by manually typing information into it, cffinit. However no option for forming a .cff from an existing source. Since many GitHub projects used published papers, books, or Zenodo, all of which can be captured by Zotero quickly, it would improve the workflow of creating .cff files. I assume that the process is relatively simple since .cff has a simple structure. I am not versed in JavaScript but would be happy to help in whatever capacity.
(It does not resolve the question of what to do about the fact that CFF currently only defines "software" and "dataset", which I think is an important issue. I hope that CFF will expand the available types, someday.)
