zotero 7 beta: number of fields for name change button
I do overall like the new UX.
I often need to change the author field from "double field" to "single field" (or rarely, vice versa). The new location that puts it under a hamburger menu makes it extra annoying since its now an extra click (twice the number as before).
I think the actual fix is to provide some kind of "default" so that the imported name matches my preference. Alternatively, I wish there was a way to select a group of sources and mass change _all_ names in _all_ sources.
That said, without either of the above, I mildly preferred the old single button approach.

kwtaylorAdditionally, when a new item is generated, it is defaulted to two-field mode. However, the three-dots will not appear until there is text in both the first and last field: You have to enter one character in each just so you can change to a single field.

vijay.krishnanI hope this gets sorted out as the UI evolves. The older (switch visible on the pane) was much more convenient, especially when a lot of author titles have been mangled.
