Time Sensitive Guidance Needed

Hi everyone,

I am very new to Zotero- as in, just downloaded it a few minutes ago. I have previously used Mendeley once or twice but have heard many good things about Zotero, so I decided to switch.

I need some guidance on if Zotero has the capability to help me with a task i've been given at work and, if so, how to go about it. Basically, I'm a research assistant and have been tasked by my PI to go through a grant proposal they wrote, and convert all in text citations and the bibliography from one citation style to another (one that I have never used before). Unfortunately, my PI is very technophobic, so all in-text citations were written manually, and all bibliography references were copy and pasted. This document is just shy of 30 pages long, and has over 80 references, but my PI wants me to finish this as quickly as possible so they can continue to edit it.

For the sake of my time and sanity, is there any sort of function for Zotero that would allow it to recognize the manually-written citations and references, and sync it's bibliography to them? That way, I may be able to just auto-update the style without having to do it all by hand? I should also mention that the references are not all properly formatted either- some of them have style issues and some even are missing DOIs- would this affect the ability of this hypothetical function i'm looking for? Or would Zotero be able to recognize any reference as long as it has most of the information?

Alternatively, if Zotero cannot accomplish this task, or have any features that can at least help it along, if you know of any other tools that can do this (or make literally any part of it easier) please let me know!

Thank you in advance!
