Issue ID 791407993-Newest Downloads of Zotero software w/ Firefox 3.5.4 not functioning with PubMed

Hi All,

I just downloaded the newest versions of Zotero software to work with my Firefox 3.5.4. The Zotero software will open up the folder "grab" function on Google Scholar, in my universities Search engines (GREAT FUNCTION!!), but when I tried PubMed (the cite I use the most for my research) I do not get the folder....

I searched through the support forums, and tried many of the fixes, but trying to update my translators, and was told that they were up to date as of 10:18AM, 10/31/09....and I don't know what else to do....

Assistance would be greatly appreciated....

Can you provide an URL that doesn't work? Also, are you running Zotero 1.0.10, or 2.0 Beta?
  • Sure thing....

Zetero 2.0 Beta and the url is

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=PubMed

I enter a search, and the Zotero "folder" should show, and I don't get it....

The folder works with other engines (Scholar, EBSCO, etc)....

  • Works fine for me, so I don't know what causing your problem.
  • 1) What's the search string you're using?

    2) If you haven't yet, try disabling other Firefox extensions. (Among other things, you have IE Tab installed, so be sure you don't have it set to browse PubMed using IE for some reason.)
  • Same as epluczkowski concerning Pubmed after upgrading to FF 3.5
zotero icon also does not appear in the state bar
After deleting the Firefox extensions files it comes back (in the state bar and Pubmed zotero icon).
However the Z does not appear anytime in the tool bar configuration and cannot be added to the All-In-One side bar.
Deleting - Reinstalling Zotero, IE Tab, All-In-One side bar, and even FF 3.5 did not help
  • jjsfb: If Zotero doesn't appear in the status bar, it has nothing to do with PubMed or this thread. I'm not quite clear on whether you're still having a problem, but if so, please start a new thread.
  • dan: you're maybe right, but when the zotero icon disappears, although it seems loaded, Pubmed doesn't function either.
I'm still having the problem. I know only how to solve it temporarily.
I'll start a new thread as advised.
  • If the Zotero icon isn't showing, Zotero isn't loaded, and you won't see the address bar icon on any site.
