Style error: Stem Cells And Development

Hi,
I have a problem with the citation style for Stem Cells and Development.

Stem Cells and Development requirements are:

https://home.liebertpub.com/publications/stem-cells-and-development/125/for-authors

In text citation [1,2]. Where there are more than two references, the citation should appear as hyphenated numbers, e.g., [1–3]. All authors must be listed in each reference.

Biendarra-Tiegs SM, DJ Clemens, FJ Secreto and TJ Nelson. (2020). Human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived non-cardiomyocytes modulate cardiac electrophysiological maturation through connexin 43-mediated cell-cell interactions. Stem Cells Dev 29:75–89.

Corwin WL, JM Baust, JG Baust and RG Van Buskirk. (2014). Characterization and modulation of human mesenchymal stem cell stress pathway response following hypothermic storage. Cryobiology 68:215–226.

And currently for Stem Cells and Development in Zotero style repository:
In text citation 1–4 in superscript.

Hisakata R, Nishida S, Johnston A. An adaptable metric shapes perceptual space. Curr Biol 2016;26(14):1911–1915; doi: 10.1016/j.cub.2016.05.047.

Could you please help me to solve this problem.
Regards,
Marek

  • I am the one who developed the styles for MAL and it was checked and signed off by MAL themselves.
    Note the following:
    Reference and Citation Guidelines

Most (but not all) Liebert journals have updated their reference instructions to follow a standard format. Please note that the new formats may differ from reference examples in previously published papers.

Templates are available as open-source CSL files and in Zotero, and can be used/imported into most reference managers.

Please consult your journal's specific instructions to identify the format that your journal will use.

  • The issue arises from the current CLS template available in the Zotero repository, which does not align with the current requirements of Stem Cells and Development. Consequently, the provided advice is not helpful.

I recently submitted a paper to SC&D with a bibliography prepared using a CLS file downloaded from the Zotero style repository. However, I was requested to reformat both in-text citations and references.

  • I had reached out to my contact at MAL who I developed the style with/for, but they are not working there anymore. If you want you can tell your contact to get in touch with me. I'm still confused why they now have a different style for this one journal if they made a huge effort a year ago to consolidate everything to one author-date and one numeric style for all MAL journals.

    Update:
OP sent me the contact details to the editor where I explained the situation. I contacted them and said editor only replied with a generic email with the guidelines and an EndNote file. I will not dig this issue out for them without them reading my emails, I'm afraid.
