error message when I attempt to change the referencing style

I keep getting this error message when I attempt to change the referencing style D804296232

can anyone help? I am about to give up on Zotero.

    Are your citations inserted as endnotes? If you change that to footnotes first and then try to change the style, does it work?

    Well that did work, I got no error message! However, the issue now is that the reference list does not show up at the end of the document. The reference numbers are listed in the body of the text but the actual list is no longer onthe document.

    I have tried closing the document and zotero program and re-opening it

    Have you tried just adding the bibliography (as in "Add Bibliography" in the Word add-on)?
