I'm using the Zotero app on a MacBook running macOS Sonoma and I'm finding that it has started to buffer frequently. All my items, attachments, and annotations are loaded and synced but every ten seconds or so the app will pause and show the loading wheel for a couple of seconds before executing the next action. It seems to have started after I added user-generated tags to most of my items.

It's not causing the app to freeze or crash but it is quite jarring and disrupts my workflow.

Does anybody know of a possible cause or a potential fix?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
