Extensions (Zotero Connector) in MS Word and Google Doc not functioning

I have been battling to cite in-tex using the connector in my word processor and in Google Chrome to cite in-tex but the result I always get is that it opens the Zotero app without the search box to enter the author's name or title of a work. Please what should I do? thank you for your responses

    Are you getting the actual main Zotero window, or the classic citation dialog that looks sort of like the main window?

    If the former, check for the red citation dialog behind the main Zotero window. If the latter, you enabled that from the Cite pane of the preferences and can turn that off.

    If you're still not seeing the red citation dialog, restart Zotero and try again, and if it's still not working provide a Debug ID for restarting Zotero and reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
