Not able to generate citation when paste in the word doc

When I wanted to paste the citation in the Word DOC or even in google doc it appears number one in the doc .Heres the example (1) .How can I solve this ?

    In Zotero Settings -> Export select the style you want your citations to appear in under "Item Format". Do note that in both Word and Google Docs you should use the Zotero plugin instead of copying citations from Zotero.

    It sounds like you are pasting citations to numeric styles. Those are just numbers. As adomasven says, you probably want to use the word processor add on, but if not, paste the bibliography, not the citation
