word crashes (every five times) I update a zotero reference

Mac, zotero 6.0.30
And after I have changed style of reference in the Document preferences plugin, it does not respond when I ask it to refresh...
Anyone knows of a discussion of this same issue please let me know!

    How long is your document? By "crashes" do you mean closes without an error prompt or something else? A document refresh can take quite a while depending on the size of your document and while Zotero is updating your document, it will not respond to any other command, so you should wait a while. If nothing helps, you can always restart Zotero.

    The document is typically around 20 pages (10.000 words). I mean that when I click to add a reference, for example, the cursor changes to the rainbow-coloured "wait!"-circle and just stays there. When I check in "Force quit", it says "Microsoft word not responding" and I have to quit it and start it over.
    Yes, I know. Sometimes the refresh *does* work, and when it does, it is as you describe, it takes quite a while and I let it work.

    Is Zotero open when this happens? Does Zotero respond when you get this issue? Are you saying that this happens while working with the document, adding and editing citations and the document, or does it occur after e.g. stepping away from your computer for some time?

    Yes, zotero is open. Zotero is still open (and it doesnt say "Zotero is not responding). It happens when I'm writing in a document, and click "add/edit citation".
