Problem with export and PDF files
Hello,
I want to export a collection of a group with 400 references containing 353 files. I right-click "export collection", Zotero RDF format and check all boxes then OK.
When I check my destination folder, I only have 157 pdf files. The 353 folders are created, but some remain empty. I've tried several times and I can't figure out what's wrong.
Thank you for your help

dstillmanHow long have you waited? There's a known issue currently where the dialog closes before the file export is complete, and if you're including annotations in the PDF, it can take a while for the files to be generated.
-
hannounI have waited a long time. Zotero was open all the afternoon and I suspected that it was necessary to wait. But it didn't resolve the issue.

dstillmanCan you provide a Debug ID for an export that doesn't include all files, waiting 10 minutes after the dialog closes?

hannounThank you for your help. Here is the debug ID D1282467845

dstillmanA bunch of PDFs in the library seem to be invalid. Can you right-click → Show File on a couple of the PDFs that aren't exporting and email them to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? You can paste 7UB9CYFR and GVGV9KU8 into the Zotero search bar in All Fields & Tags mode to find the two files above.

hannounI just sent the email with pdf files. After a few tests, it could be that the PDF annotation option is causing the problem when exporting.
-
adamsmithOh, it definitely is triggered by that option, but obviously that should work: it's a principal way in which Zotero protects you against software lock-in with your annotations.
-
dstillmanYes, to be clear, when you export without annotations, Zotero can just copy the unmodified file on disk, so it's very fast and doesn't require parsing the file. When you export with annotations, it has to parse the file and add any annotations you've made to the file. So here Zotero is having trouble doing that. We'll investigate.
