Black circle on images in PDF viewer

Hi, I have noticed images in some PDFs do not render correctly - they have a black circle in the top left corner of images. I have seen this in the Firefox PDF reader too. No idea if there is a fix, I read that it has to do with hardware acceleration so maybe this can be disabled?

We'll be updating to a newer version of pdf.js later this year, and with any luck that will fix it. That's about all we can say on it.

(Yes, if it wasn't clear, setting layers.acceleration.disabled to true — i.e., disabling hardware acceleration — will almost certainly fix this in the meantime if you're experiencing it, though note that graphics performance will be slower.)

FYI this issue is fixed in the latest Zotero beta, here is the screenshot of the same image as above, no black circle.

Yes, and the pref above is automatically reset when you upgrade to Zotero 7 so that hardware acceleration is turned back on.
