[SOLVED] Importing BibTex from clipboard doesn't work

edited November 19, 2023
I want to import this article into Zotero: https://www.proquest.com/docview/2886392608/fulltextPDF/B6175F612CE04845PQ/4?accountid=9652#

It's a MIT Technology Review article accessed through ProQuest.

I clicked on Cite, selected BibTex and and "Copy to clipboard".

Then in Zotero I did File -> Import from clipboard.

Zotero tells me that "The selected file is not in a supported format".

Then clicking on "Supported formats" remand me to a page which include BibTex as supported format: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_standardized_formats.

Here is the content copied into my clipboard (trailing and leading newlines included).

EDIT: Removing the trailing and leading new lines don't change anything. So this is not the problem.

EDIT: Zotero v. 6.0.30.

abstract={Chan and Zuckerberg discuss the ways that artificial intelligence (AI) can help us understand how cells work--and help cure diseases. Cells are fundamental to understanding disease, yet much about them remains unknown. The integration of biomolecules within cells and the interactions between different cell types are still not fully understood. However, the use of AI can help answer these questions and improve global health. By representing every cell state and type using AI models, scientists can simulate and predict cellular responses to specific conditions and stimuli. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is actively supporting the generation of scientific data and the development of computing infrastructure to make this virtual cell modeling system a reality. CZI is also collaborating with researchers worldwide to create comprehensive data sets and atlases of cell types, as well as incorporating diverse populations to ensure scientific breakthroughs benefit everyone. The goal is to accelerate the understanding of cells and use AI to advance disease prevention and management.},

  • Yes, reseting the translators fix this too

I am having this issue today.. I have been using Better BibTex for a long time and it worked for years. I am using Zotero 6 but today I just found that I got stuck when importing bibtex by using clipboard and zotero shows 'Import... Better CSL YAML' on the bottom right corner. I have tried restarting Zotero, resetting translator or reinstall ing Better BibTex but nothing worked. Any suggestions?

Just found the issue could be the translator:
[JavaScript Error: "XML Parsing Error: not well-formed

    Location: moz-nullprincipal:{dc07e8ab-cc47-7045-b93e-f3e5a2c918b6}

    Line Number 1, Column 1:" {file: "moz-nullprincipal:{dc07e8ab-cc47-7045-b93e-f3e5a2c918b6}" line: 1 column: 1 source: "@article{zuo2022deep,"}]

But still dont know how to fix this.. I have tried many different versions of BBTX..

For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.
  • Those listed errors are unrelated, they are reported by standard translators which should just ignore data not intended for them.

But please do open an issue on the BBT project page.
