Transfer of information

How can I transfer my Zotero library from one computer to another? Can I save it onto a separate hard drive and how do you do it?

What about if I reinstall the operating system in my computer? How can I save all the information stored in the Zotero library and transfer it again?

    Zotero stores everything on your computer in a subdirectory of your Firefox profile directory. That is why Zotero can be used offline as well. In most cases, you will find your Zotero files here:

    On a Mac:
    /Users//Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles//zotero

    On Windows:
    C:\Documents and Settings\\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\zotero

    In the near future, there will be ways of storing and syncing Zotero collections remotely. For the time being you can copy the Zotero file and replace the Zotero file on another machine. This will replace the second machines collection with the first.
