Line instead of box to separate text from notes

good evening, I created my master thesis with zotero and now it always makes a square/box between text and footnotes. but my prof only wants a simple line. where can I change this?
I use the Wien format.

What word processor, version? What computer operating system?

Do you mean a single small box at the beginning of where you want a line or do you mean that you get a rectangle that is the size/length of what you expect should be a line?

This is probably a setting that you can change in your word processor styles menu (NOT a Zotero styles thing). If you tell us what software you are using someone here can almost surely tell you how to quickly and easily fix your issue with the footnote separator.

Do you mean the separator displayed at the bottom of pages 1, 2, and 3 in this document?

Good morning,
I use Windows, Word is from the MS 365 Version, should be the latest one.

I think the first noted problem is my problem.

I have a table box instead of a simple line above the first foodnote on each page
