Zotero flickering when highlighting words in PDF

I am currently using the Macbook Air M1laptop, and recently whenever I select words on zotero the whole window flickers, the PDF is still readable under the circumstances but very distracting. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried reopening but it does not seem to help

    1) Have you tried to disable plugins?
    2) Could you make a video demonstrating the issue?

    hi thanks for replying! I believe that I don't have any plug-ins on Zotero so I suppose that is not the problem. It also kinda fixed itself for a few hours before reappearing again.

    Can you reproduce the issue on Zotero 7 beta?

    I am experiencing the same issue. I am using a Macboook Air M2 laptop.

    It seems that there may be a feature that allows to adjust the contrast of the pdf viewer when clicking on the page. While reading a pdf, if I click on a blank spot on the page, the colors get sharper, and if I click again they go back to being softer. When highlighting a sentence or holding the mouse left-button to draw other annotations, it is as if this color-contrast-flick-option was being activated and deactivated repeatedly, causing the flickering behavior that @alice33chan showed in the video and that I am also experiencing. However I haven't seen any option in the settings to disable that option.

    @julienroyd Which Zotero version? If 6, then try 7 beta and let us know if the issue remains.
